- Since the final edition of this paper in 1991, Dr Bernard Sellato brought to
my attention that the Land Dayak word kɔbis ‘to die’ and its
variant forms has cognates in many of the languages spoken by Punan people in
Borneo.
- Also after the final edition of this paper, O.C. Dahl published a book on the
Indonesian origins of the Malagasy people (Dahl 1991).
